In this picture is the main classroom upstairs in the Adult Education Association in New Amsterdam. This is where I taught remedial English one hour a day to a group of pre-teens. The blackboard is really just a slab of wood that is painted black; it is very rough and eats chalk fast. This photo was shot at night just before I headed home for dinner. On the board you can see a lesson from earlier that day, where the children practiced their cursive.
